What is an 'Oshi' ?
An Oshi is a Japanese slang term originating from the subculture of 'Oshikatsu'. The word 'Oshi' comes from the Japanese word "favourite" or "to support", and is a slang term used to describe an idol or favourite character. Oshikatsu culture includes spending lots of time, money and dedication to consuming media, buying/creating merchandise and supporting their Oshi. It is most commonly used in Japanese Idol and Vtuber culture.

For me, the word 'Oshi' is somewhat nostalgic, since back in 2021-2023 I used to be a HUGE VTuber fan and I used the word Oshi a LOT and aspired to collect merch. Unfortionately, the VTuber agency I supported was exposed for being a horrible place and I no longer support them. I've been slowly easing back into indulging in Japanese media without feeling like a Japan glazer; to be cringe is to free as they say.

It reminds me of myself in a way, how I tend to make friends younger than me and how I'm always a bit slow socially. Read more
Crypton Vocaloid Kagamine Len

Mainly because I discovered Vocaloid during when I was still heavily masking and thought I'd get shot if I liked the same character as someone else, with Len being one of my friends at the time's favourite character. Although, as I started to discover myself as a person a bit more I started to give less and less of a crap about masking but in return that friend grew distant from me. Sometimes I get sad that some people don't like me purely cause I'm autistic, but afterwards I started to gravitate to Len, his songs and his design a bit more. Read more
